TYPES OF DIFFERENT NARRATIONS IN THE PROPHET'S HADITH AND ITS IMPACT ON JURISPRUDENTIAL RULINGS

Different narrations of Hadith are categorized into two groups according to its influence on jurisprudential judgment: disagreement of variance and disagreement of contradiction. Contradiction and disagreement found in some narrations of Hadith are considered part of what is known in Hadith methodology as Mukhtalif Al-Hadith and Mushkil Al-Hadith, which discusses particularly contradictions in a Hadith. Such branch of Hadith has great impact on jurisprudential judgment. Some Hadith scholars call it disagreement of contrariness which seems more appropriate for the Hadith narrations that its disagreement was by no means eliminated or explained. Such cases are rare and some scholars had denied it and considered its disagreement as simple and obvious that it can be explained and directed. And indeed, this is the bottom line of disagreement among Hadith narrations as sound Hadiths may never contradict without giving accurate explanations to reconcile among contradicted narrations.
