ABSTRACT This research aims at pinpointing the main components of Dawah (preaching) which contribute to the best interaction and response between the Da’i (preacher) and mad’o (preached) in addition to investigating their effect on the preached. The researcher adopts the analytical inductive methodology in order to extract the most important preaching qualities that should be available in the preacher. The significance of the research stems from the fact that it approaches a daily practice related to our convictions and behavior. For, Dawah is expected to improve a person’s life and refine his social practices leading to the virtuous society which follows the supreme Islamic ethics. The problem of the study stems from the current excessive use of Dawah by a wide spectrum of people who do not posses the basic qualities of the preacher. This has tarnished the good image of Dawah and diverted it from its expected supreme goal of having refined Muslim societies which follow the true teachings of Islam. The researcher concluded that the preacher should posses important qualities in order to achieve his goal of disseminating the teachings of Islam in the correct way. These qualities should overlap and work harmoniously in order to achieve the expected positive response. Preachers have a significant role in our daily lives because of their special attributes which enable them to make the change. By adopting these attributes, preachers will be more self confident, and better able to approach others in one hand and better able to get the expected response in the other. |
