CONTEMPORARY ADVOCACY DISCOURSE AND ITS IMPACT ON GLORIFYING THE SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET THROUGH PULPIT SERMONS

Abstract The research was entitled: “Contemporary advocacy discourse and its impact on glorifying the Prophet’s Sunnah through pulpit sermons,” and aims to explain the motives upon which contemporary preaching discourse is based to glorify the Prophet’s Sunnah, reveal its reality through Friday sermons, and identify the means and mechanisms that would glorify the Prophet’s Sunnah. The researcher reached the most important results: What calls a Muslim to venerate the Prophetic Sunnah are things, the most notable of which are: that venerating the Sunnah is part of venerating God, and a branch of faith, and that it is the second source of legislation, and that advocacy discourse in the era of globalization and the revolution of communications and satellite channels is one of the most important means and methods in advocacy. However, there are gaps in this. The discourse, especially with regard to glorifying the Sunnah, the most prominent of which is seasonal interaction with events, weak exploitation of them, and lack of planning. The sermon is considered one of the most prominent means of advocacy discourse. Rather, it is an important means that reveals its reality and shows its impact in glorifying the Sunnah. However, famous preachers and preachers who have followers exceeding millions on their social media sites did not exploit it to publish their sermons in glorifying the Sunnah in relevant events. Relevance Therefore, it is necessary to exploit those means and mechanisms that enable it to have a lasting influence on the addressees in glorifying the Sunnah, the most prominent of which are: adhering to the Prophet’s method in preaching speech, informing the addressees of the status of the Sunnah, urging them to follow him - may God bless him and grant him peace - and instilling his love in their souls and his support. Defending it, and the necessity of including in the discourse the texts of the two revelations, and benefiting from the science of scientific miracles and linking it to glorifying the Sunnah of the Prophet. The researcher recommended conducting extensive studies into the impact of contemporary advocacy discourse on the issues and constants that people have shown weakness in adhering to and who have been lukewarm in adhering to them.
